McPherson Law Group schedules appointments on a flexible basis. Appointments are available during regular business hours as well as on some evenings and weekends. If you would like to schedule an appointment, click BOOK AN APPOINTMENT, to the right of the screen. If the times available do not suit your schedule, please fill out the form below to request a custom appointment time.
Appointments can be in person or over the telephone. Sometimes “appointments” happen entirely over email. It depends on what you want and need…again, we try to be flexible and accommodate what you need.
For estate planning appointments, including living trusts, wills, probate, and conservatorships, there is no fee for the initial consultation. We will ask you to fill out an intake form to save time during the consultation, and the time we spend together will be used by answering your questions, getting to know you and your family – and having you get to know us! – and determining what we would recommend for your estate plan. All fees, which are flat in nearly all cases, are determined at this meeting. Our attorneys can come to your home for the consultation in many cases. If you would like to schedule an appointment in your home, please fill out the form below.
For family law appointments, including divorce, custody, child/spousal support (alimony), paternity cases, guardianships, adoptions, and domestic violence issues, the fee for the consultation is $250. McPherson Law Group approaches family law cases in a way that is very different from other attorneys, which is why there is a fee for the meeting. Similar to the estate planning appointment, we will want you to fill out our intake form in advance of our meeting. This saves time and allows us to maximize the time we have advising you. In addition, also prior to the appointment, we will ask you to email, fax or drop off any documents you may have for your case, as well as write a narrative of your story, your concerns, what questions you would like answered, and what you are looking for from us. This allows us to start our meeting already up to speed on your situation. For more information on why and how we do this, see our article, “Secrets of a divorce attorney: Why a free consultation isn’t worth the money.“
In both cases, the meeting lasts about one hour – sometimes a little less, and sometimes a little more.
